The radical refurbishment of the Forum's gym has begun and the space is scheduled to re-open on 12 December.
The refurbishment project, valued at £250.000, will see the creation of a brand new performance space downstairs. In addition there will be new state of the art Technogym and Escape Fitness equipment throughout and new décor to bring a brighter, more modern feel. The number of equipment stations will increase by 25 across the existing gym and new performance space.
The leisure element of the centre is managed on behalf of the Trust by GLL, under the Better brand. Regional director Andy King said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Wythenshawe Forum Trust on this project. Eddie Flanagan and his team at the Trust are passionate about the local community and in bringing first class facilities to Wythenshawe. This project will certainly enhance what is currently available and we look forward to welcoming new and old customers along to what will be one of the best gyms in Manchester. It will be a great addition to the already fantastic community facility at the Forum.”
The gym will reopen at 9am on Saturday 12th December. Members are able to use any other Better leisure centre in Manchester during this period at no extra cost.
