HEALTH & WELL-BEING EVENT

On Wednesday 20 July at Wythenshawe Forum, University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM) hosts a celebration of health and well-being services across south Manchester: a free event bringing together many of the great health and well-being services that are available from the NHS, local authority and voluntary and community organisations.
Open between 10am and 4pm for a day of community health and social care for service users and staff, clinicians and supporters. Highlights of the day include:

- Pop up health and wellbeing clinics
- Advice on staying fit, keeping well & being active
- Introduction to heads, hand & heart - South Manchester’s approach to health and well-being
- Take part in stimulating workshops to learn and share the wide range of services being delivered in community
- Meet the team
- Take part in exercise classes
- Share your opinions and be part of shaping changes to improve community health and social care in south Manchester and meet the community team
- Find out about what’s available in your area at information stalls
- Take a closer look at some of the innovative ideas and fresh thinking in diabetes
- Hear how community services can bring patients home from hospital sooner and help to keep them safe at home
- Be part of shaping changes to improve community health and social care in south Manchester – One Team
Dr Ray Keelan, Clinical Director for Community Services at UHSM, said: “I’m delighted to be hosting this celebration of community-based services , community and voluntary sector organisation, carers and volunteers that help the people of south Manchester to live independently, live longer and enjoy better and more fulfilled lives.”
