Wythenshawe organisations have partnered with Mike Kane MP to hold another cost-of-living drop-in session for residents.
The event is free to attend and takes place on 12 January 2023 from 2pm to 7pm; the later finishing time to accommodate residents who are unable to attend during working and school hours.
in partnership with Wythenshawe Forum Trust, Manchester City Council and Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG), representatives from a range of public and community organisations will be on hand, offering advice and support to residents.
Residents can find information on finances and debt, housing, energy, health and wellbeing and local services.
The previous event in October saw a high turnout from residents who found support from services providers such as Citizens Advice Bureau, Manchester City Council, WCHG, Jobcentre Plus, United Utilities, local food banks, and community centres.
The consensus from attendees showed that while they were already feeling the impact of the crisis, they feared that the worst was still to come, particularly after the Christmas period when household finances can come under strain.
Mike said: “We know that the winter period, especially Christmas, will be very challenging for residents. We already have high levels of household debt, which has had a long-lasting effect on people’s financial and mental wellbeing.
“We want to ensure we’re doing all we can to help people avoid the destructive cycle of debt.”
